On Sunday, August 1 from 3 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Balbo Drive between Michigan and Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Balbo will be closed to all traffic for the annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon. As a result, the following 23 CTA bus routes will be detoured to adjacent streets to maintain service:

Before and After the Race
From approximately 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. and then again from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., buses operating along the #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #14 Jeffery Express buses will be temporarily rerouted as follows:
Northbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will travel over their regular routes along Columbus to Roosevelt then will operate via Roosevelt to Michigan and then resume their regular routes past Balbo. Southbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will travel the reverse route.
During the Race
From 6 a.m. until approximately 9:30 a.m. the following reroutes will be in effect:
Southbound Service to the Loop
In general, customers traveling to the Loop or the downtown area via southbound #22 Clark and #36 Broadway buses will need to exit at Chicago/State and transfer to the Red Line subway to continue the remainder of the trip.
#10 Museum of Science & Industry
Southbound #10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate over the regular route along Michigan to Ontario then will travel via Ontario, Wells, Grand, Halsted, Roosevelt, State, 47th Street to Lake Shore Drive and then resume the regular route.
Northbound #10 buses will travel over the regular route along Lake Shore Drive to 47th Street then will operate via 47th Street, State, Roosevelt, Halsted, Grand, Orleans, Ohio to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
#56 Milwaukee
Southbound #56 Milwaukee buses will operate over the regular route along Milwaukee to Desplaines/Fulton then will travel via Fulton, Clinton, Lake, Wacker, Clark, Washington to Dearborn before turning to begin northbound service.
From Dearborn/Washington, northbound #56 buses will travel north on Dearborn to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Lake to Jefferson and then resume the regular route.
#145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express
Southbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will operate over their regular routes along Michigan to Ontario then will travel via Ontario, Wells, Grand, Halsted, Jackson to State before turning to begin northbound service.
From State/Van Buren, northbound #145 and #147 buses will travel via Van Buren, Halsted, Grand, Orleans, Ohio to Michigan and then resume their regular routes.
#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
Southbound #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will travel over the regular route along Michigan to Ontario then will operate via Ontario, Wells, Grand, Halsted to Roosevelt before turning to begin northbound service.* Customers who need to continue south will need to exit at Roosevelt/State and transfer to the Roosevelt Red, Green or Orange lines for the remainder of the trip.
From Roosevelt/State, northbound #146 buses will operate via Roosevelt, Halsted, Grand, Orleans, Ohio to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
*Note: #146 buses will begin providing service to the Museum Campus at approximately 9:30 a.m.
#151 Sheridan
Southbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate over the regular route along Michigan to Ontario then will travel via Ontario, Wells, Grand, Halsted, Jackson to Canal before turning to begin northbound service.
From Jackson/Canal, northbound #151 buses will travel via Canal, Van Buren, Halsted, Grand, Orleans, Ohio to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
Northbound and Eastbound Service to the Loop
In general, customers traveling to the Loop or downtown area via northbound #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #14 Jeffery Express, #29 State and #62 Archer buses and eastbound #12 Roosevelt and #18 16th/18th buses will need to exit at State/Roosevelt and transfer to either the Red, Green or Orange lines to continue the remainder of the trip.
#20 Madison
Eastbound #20 Madison buses will operate over the regular route along Washington to Halsted then will travel via Halsted, Fulton, Clinton, Lake, Wacker, Clark, Washington to Dearborn before beginning westbound service.
From Dearborn/Washington, westbound #20 buses will travel north on Dearborn to Wacker then will operate via Wacker, Lake, Halsted to Madison and then resume the regular route.
#60 Blue Island/26th
Northbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate over the regular route along Harrison to Halsted then will travel via Halsted, Fulton, Clinton, Lake, Wacker, Clark, Washington to Dearborn before turning to begin southbound service.
From Dearborn/Washington, southbound #60 buses will travel via Dearborn, Wacker, Lake, Halsted to Harrison and then resume the regular route.
#65 Grand
Eastbound #65 Grand buses will operate over the regular route along Grand to Orleans then will travel via Orleans, Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
Westbound #65 buses will travel over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will operate via McClurg, Ontario, Wells to Grand and then resume the regular route.
#66 Chicago
Eastbound #66 Chicago buses will operate over the regular route along Fairbanks to Ohio then will travel via Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
Westbound #66 buses will travel over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will operate via McClurg, Ontario to Fairbanks and then resume the regular route.
#124 Navy Pier
From the Union/Ogilvie stations, eastbound #124 Navy Pier buses will travel south on Canal to Van Buren then will operate via Van Buren, Halsted, Grand, Orleans, Ohio, McClurg to Illinois and then resume the regular route.
Westbound #124 buses will operate over the regular route along Grand to McClurg then will travel via McClurg, Ontario, Wells, Grand, Halsted, Jackson to Canal before beginning eastbound service.
#126 Jackson
Eastbound #126 Jackson buses will travel to Jackson/State before turning to begin westbound service. From State/Jackson, westbound #126 buses will operate via State to Van Buren and then resume the regular route past Halsted.
#130 Museum Campus
Southbound #130 Museum Campus buses will operate over the regular route along Canal to Lake then will travel via Lake, Halsted, Jackson, State to Roosevelt before turning to begin northbound service.
From Roosevelt/Wabash, northbound #130 buses will travel via Wabash, Van Buren, Halsted, Fulton, Clinton, Lake, Wacker, Madison to Canal and then resume the regular route.
