CTA BUSES SERVE CHICAGO AUTO SHOW AT McCORMICK PLACE FEBRUARY 6 – 15

The Chicago Transit Authority will serve the 2004 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place South with accessible buses on three CTA routes from Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 15 at all hours the show is open. Service will begin one hour before the show opens with the last bus leaving McCormick Place one hour after the show ends each day.

These buses will operate to McCormick Place directly from Metra stations west of the Loop, from downtown, from North Michigan Avenue, and from the South and West Sides. Customers can transfer to these buses from other bus routes and from all 'L' and subway lines serving downtown.

#3 King Drive buses serve McCormick Place from North Michigan Avenue and the South Side every 12 ? 15 minutes.

#21 Cermak buses operate from the West Side east on Cermak from 54th Avenue in Cicero. #21 buses operate every 10 ? 15 minutes through mid-evening daily and every 20 minutes in the later evening daily.

#21 Cermak 'shuttle? buses marked ?McCormick Place? will operate to the show from the Orange Line Halsted station on weekends.

#127 North Western/Madison buses serve Gate 26 on the lower level of McCormick Place South from Union Station, the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Washington Street downtown. #127 buses will operate every six minutes.

A special $1 rush shuttle fare will be in effect from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. weekdays only for customers boarding on Canal Street from either Union Station or the Ogilvie Transportation Center. The fare also will be in effect from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in both directions along the entire route between the stations and McCormick Place.

#127 buses start their trips from Union Station north on Canal at Adams. Stops are made at both Madison and Washington for the Ogilvie Center before the buses make regular stops east on Washington, south on Michigan and east on Balbo to Columbus. The buses then run express to McCormick Place. Customers can transfer to #127 buses on Washington from the Blue Line at Dearborn, the Red Line at State, and from 'L' trains serving the Madison/Wabash station (one block south of Washington).

Fares are $1.75 for customers 12 and older. Children seven through 11 pay 85 cents.
