CTA's Holiday Train will spread yuletide cheer to customers on two more rail lines this weekend as it enters service on the Red Line Saturday, December 11, and on the Green Line Sunday, December 12. Last Friday, the train operated on the Cermak and O'Hare branches of the Blue Line, and on Saturday it was on the Forest Park and O'Hare branches. Late Saturday it was also used to deliver baskets of food to three Blue Line stations for distribution to needy families.
The Holiday Train is decorated with ornaments and thousands of lights both inside and outside. Positioned between pairs of passenger cars on the train is a decorated flatcar carrying reindeer and a sleigh with Santa on board. On Saturday and Sunday this weekend, the Holiday Train will make all regular stops on the two lines where it will be operating, and CTA customers paying regular fares will be welcome to ride on any of the six passenger cars in service.
On Saturday, December 11, the Holiday Train will make two round trips on the Red Line from Howard to 95th Street, according to the following schedule:

On Sunday, December 12, the Holiday Train will make round trips on the Green Line from Harlem to Ashland/63rd on the Ashland branch, and from Harlem to East 63rd/Cottage Grove on the East 63rd branch, according to the following:
