Job seekers interested in careers in transportation and government, or the trades can connect with potential employers at Citywide Career Fair in South Chicago
Following the success of the first Citywide Career Fair last Spring, where over 60 employers and more than 400 job seekers attended, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is joining local and state government agencies, nonprofits and private sector leaders to host a second joint hiring event next week. The CTA is joined by the Office of the City Clerk Anna M. Velencia, City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) and Skills for Chicagoland’s Future among others from the nonprofit and private sector to host the second Citywide Career Fair, on Thursday, October 10, at Olive-Harvey College in Chicago’s South Side.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with employers across a range of industries, including transportation, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, security, and more.
Other participating organizations include Illinois Tollway, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Pace Suburban Bus, Metra Rail, REDefine Southside Partners Joint Venture (RSP-JV), and Northwestern Medicine, among others.
Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their updated resumes. Free parking is available adjacent to the TDL Building.
"Building a dedicated and diverse workforce is a priority for the CTA and our partners,” CTA President Dorval R. Carter, Jr., said. “This career fair gives attendees the chance to explore career paths and make vital connections."
