The following scheduled construction projects will affect CTA service, beginning the weekend of April 8-9, 2000:
47th Street Viaduct over the Dan Ryan Expressway
Ongoing through September
#43 43rd buses will still connect with Red Line trains at 47th, but will operate westbound from 43rd via State, 47th and Princeton to Root; eastbound detour is the same in reverse
#51 51st buses will connect with the Red Line at Garfield instead of 47th
Detour westbound from 51st is via Wentworth, Garfield, and Wells back to 51st;eastbound detour is the same in reverse
Grand Avenue between Rush and Michigan
6 a.m. Saturday, April 8, until 6 a.m. Monday, April 10
#29 State and #65 Grand buses detoured off Grand westbound onto Fairbanks, then north to Ontario, west to State, and south back to the regular route.
Jackson Boulevard Bridge
6 a.m. Saturday, April 8, until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 9
#60 Blue Island/26th, #126 Jackson and #151 Sheridan buses detoured off Jackson eastbound onto Canal, north to Washington, east to Wacker and south back to Jackson. Buses will stop for customers northbound on Canal at Adams
Howard Street westbound only from Ridge to Kedzie
Monday, April 10, through September
#93 North California buses detoured northbound only from California at Touhy, west on Touhy to Kedzie, north on Kedzie to Howard and over the regular route
#97 Skokie buses westbound only off Howard at Ridge, south on Ridge to Touhy, west on Touhy to California, and north on California/Dodge over the regular route
#204 Dodge buses westbound only off Howard at Ridge, south on Ridge to Touhy, west to Western and north on Western/Asbury over the regular route
Harlem Avenue Viaduct over the Kennedy Expressway
Monday, April 10, through late fall
#88 Higgins buses will not stop at Blue Line station southbound on Harlem; #88 buses may be boarded at the southeast corner of Higgins and Harlem
Chicago Avenue Bridge
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 10
#66 Chicago buses detoured off Chicago westbound via Larrabee, Division and Halsted back to Chicago; eastbound detour is the same in reverse
Kedzie Avenue Railroad Viaducts between Carroll and Walton
Wednesday, April 12, through mid-July
#52 Kedzie/California buses detoured southbound off Kedzie via Franklin west to Homan, south to Fulton, and east back to Kedzie. Northbound reroute is the same in reverse
