As part of the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Phase One Project, CTA and artist teams will meet with the public to get input on future new artwork for each station
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) invites local residents near the Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr Red Line stations to attend the “Meet the Artists” community meetings to connect and interact with artists hired to create new, original works of art for each new station.
The artists will create original artwork for the new Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr stations, as well as the Bryn Mawr station’s Hollywood auxiliary entrance/exit stationhouse. To assist the artists as they begin preparing their project design proposals, CTA will collect input from riders and neighbors about the history and unique features of the community and other ideas or suggestions. The meetings will be held virtually and require advance registration:

CTA has been expanding its world-class public artwork in its stations and other facilities as it rebuilds Chicago’s transit system to create an attractive environment for commuters.
Over the last decade, the CTA’s public art collection has nearly doubled to include nearly 90 permanent works of art across all eight rail lines and multiple bus facilities. This dynamic and immersive collection of public art includes mosaics, art glass, sculptures and interactive installations created by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, many of whom are local.
