CTA to Provide Extra Service to Upcoming Events at United Center

Additionally, several downtown bus routes will resume normal routing following the completion of Adams Street Bridge work by the Chicago Department of Transportation

The Chicago Transit Authority will provide extra service for customers attending upcoming events at the United Center.

Separately, several CTA bus routes serving downtown and Union Station will resume their normal routing on the Adams Street Bridge following the completion of construction work by the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT).

United Center Events

The CTA will operate the #19 United Center Express for customers attending the upcoming events at the United Center:

  • Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. – Chicago Bulls vs. Phoenix Suns
  • Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. – Charlie Wilson Concert
  • Sunday, Feb. 26 at  6:30 p.m. – Chicago Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues
  • Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. – Chicago Bulls vs. Denver Nuggets
  • Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. – Chicago Blackhawks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
  • Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. – Chicago Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors

Bus Service:

#19 United Center Express: Service provided on #19 will begin approximately 1.5 hours before events until one hour after events end.  Buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on the Madison near Gate 3.

#50 Damen: #50 provides a good option for customers accessing the United Center from the north and south and provides connections with Orange, Pink, Blue and Brown lines. Northbound #50 buses will await customers on Damen at Madison after each event.

Rail Service:

CTA’s Ashland/Lake station, served by the Green and Pink lines, is located a few blocks northeast of the United Center. Customers exiting at the station can transfer to #9 Ashland buses or simply walk a few blocks to the stadium.

Customers taking the Blue Line can get to the United Center by exiting at the Illinois Medical District station and walking a few blocks north to the United Center.

Adams Street Bridge Re-opening

Several downtown bus routes will resume their normal routing on the Adams Street Bridge at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 24 following the completion of construction work by CDOT. The completion of work will improve CTA service to Union Station and the Union Station Transit Center.

The following bus routes will resume their normal routing: #1 Bronzeville/Union Station, #7 Harrison, #28 Stony Island, #121 Union/Streeterville Express, #126 Jackson, #151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle. The #130 Museum Campus route will also resume its regular route beginning Memorial Day.

Customers are advised to check individual bus schedules and plan ahead.
