Enjoy Free Rides with CTA While Celebrating New Year’s Eve

December 29, 2022

Extra service to sporting events at United Center and New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Navy Pier

This year CTA will once again be offering New Year’s Eve Free Rides for our customers. Free rides will be available on both CTA trains and buses from 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 31 until 4 a.m. Sunday, January 1. This is in partnership with the sponsor, Miller Lite who is allowing us to help Chicago residents celebrate New Year’s Eve in a safe and reliable way.

NOTE: All CTA bus and rail service will operate on a Saturday schedule on Saturday, December 31. Then on both Sunday, January 1, and Monday, January 2 when the New Year is nationally observed – CTA will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Customers can save money by purchasing one of our unlimited rides passes, either the CTA’s 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.
