EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF FEBRUARY 13 – 15

CTA Provides Convenient Service for the 2004 Chicago Auto Show The Chicago Transit Authority will serve the 2004 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place South with accessible buses on three CTA routes through Sunday, February 15 at all hours the show is open. Service will begin one hour before the show opens with the last bus leaving McCormick Place one hour after the show ends each day.

These buses will operate to McCormick Place directly from Metra stations west of the Loop, from downtown, from North Michigan Avenue, and from the South and West Sides. Customers can transfer to these buses from other bus routes and from all 'L' and subway lines serving downtown.

Franklin/Orleans Bridge Closed for Repairs on FridayThe Franklin/Orleans bridge over the Chicago River will be closed for repairs and testing from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 13. This closure will affect some northbound morning and afternoon rush period trips on the #37 Sedgwick/ Ogden and #125 Water Tower Express bus routes. Affected trips will operate via Wacker, LaSalle, Hubbard, back to Orleans then resume the regular route.

Pulaski Closes for Viaduct Work Beginning MondayThe southbound lanes at the railroad viaduct at 400 North Pulaski will be closed for repairs beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, February 16 and continuing through July. Southbound #53 Pulaski buses will operate via Chicago, Ohio, Hamlin, Washington back to Pulaski then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Halsted Closes for Water Main Installation Beginning MondayThe northbound lanes of Halsted will be closed between 63rd and 65th Streets beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, February 16 and continuing through Friday, April 16. Northbound #8 Halsted buses will be diverted to Halsted Parkway (a circular drive just east of Halsted), then return to Halsted at 63rd to resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.
