Eight Bus Routes Begin Improved Service Beginning SundayService improvements affecting eight bus routes will take affect Sunday, June 22. The affected routes are: #3 King Drive, #55 Garfield, #124 Navy Pier Express, #56 Milwaukee, #120 North Western Express, #62 Archer, #20 Madison and #34 South Michigan. Improvements include increased frequency of service, expanded service hours and better links to employment, shopping and recreational destinations.
Bus Service Improvements Take Effect in Evanston Beginning SundayCTA will implement a 180-day experimental restructuring of bus routes serving Evanston, Skokie and West Rogers Park beginning Sunday. The improvements were designed to provide better links between employment generators, improve transit service between Chicago, Evanston and Skokie, meet customer demands and improve efficiency. The affected routes are #93 California/Dodge, #200 Main Shuttle, #201 Central/Ridge, #205 Chicago/Golf, #206 Evanston Circulator, #11 Lincoln, #96 Lunt and #97 Skokie.
Two Events Close Streets in Downtown EvanstonThe Custer Street Fair and the Fountain Square Arts Festival will close several streets in downtown Evanston over the weekend. Set up for the Custer Street Fair will begin at 6 p.m. Friday closing Main from Chicago to Sherman; Chicago from Main to Kedzie; Washington from Sherman to Chicago; and Custer from Main to Madison. #201 Central/Sherman buses will operate in both directions via Chicago, Kedzie, Hinman, Main, back to Chicago and the regular route.
#202 Main/Emerson buses will operate in both directions via Main, Ridge, Greenleaf, Chicago and back to Main and the regular route.
Set up for the Fountain Square Arts Festival will begin at 5 p.m. Friday closing Sherman from Elgin to Davis; and Church from Benson to Orrington. Southbound #201 Central/Sherman buses will operate via Sherman, Elgin, Chicago, Davis and back to Sherman and the regular route.
#204 Dodge buses will operate via Benson, Elgin, Chicago, Davis and back to Sherman and the regular route. All streets will reopen Monday, June 23 at 6 a.m.
Madison Closed Sunday Morning for 5K Race PartyMadison will be closed between Wood and Damen for the ?Running with the Bulls? 5K race street party from 6 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. #20 Madison buses will operate eastbound via Damen, Warren, Ashland and back to Madison to resume the regular route. Westbound #20 buses will operate via Ashland, Washington, Damen and back to Madison to resume the regular route.
Damen Closed for Ongoing Cermak (Douglas) RenovationDamen will be closed between Cullerton and 21st Street from 3 a.m. Saturday, June 21 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 22. #50 Damen buses will bererouted in both directions via Cermak, Ashland, 18th and Damen then resume the regular route.
Sewer Work Closes Narragansett for One Week Beginning MondayNarragansett will be closed northbound only at Wrightwood from Monday, June 23 until Monday, June 30 for sewer work. Northbound #86 Narragansett/Ridgeland buses will operate via Fullerton, Austin, Diversey and back to Narragansett and the regular route.
