Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of November 4 ? 6

Jackson/Van Buren Mezzanine Temporarily Closed for Renovation Beginning Friday NightThe Jackson/Van Buren subway station mezzanine at the south end of the Jackson station on the Blue Line will be temporarily closed for construction from 9 p.m. Friday, November 4 until 5 a.m. Monday, November 7. Customers can access the station from the Jackson/Adams entrances at the north end of the station.

Jackson/Van Buren Mezzanine Becomes Exit OnlyBeginning at 5 a.m. Monday, November 7, the Jackson/Van Buren mezzanine will operate as an exit only through February 2007 while the station is renovated. To access the Jackson station, customers should walk one block north on Dearborn and enter the Blue Line subway between Jackson and Adams. When the work is completed customers will experience modern station amenities on the platform and mezzanine.

115th/Keeler Terminal Closed for Marist High School State Football Playoffs Beginning FridayThe 115th/Keeler terminal at Marist High School will be closed for state football playoffs beginning at 7 a.m. Friday, November 4 until 1 p.m. Saturday, November 5.

Southbound #52A South Kedzie(accessible) buses will operate to the terminal at 115th/Springfield where they will begin their northbound trips.

Southbound #53A South Pulaski (accessible) buses will operate to the terminal at 115th/Springfield where they will begin their northbound trips via 115th to Pulaski, then resume the regular route.

Longer and More Frequent Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football SaturdayThe Northwestern Wildcats host the University of Iowa Hawkeyes at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating every seven to eight minutes beginning at 9 a.m. until noon, then again for one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.

Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line SaturdayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect southbound between Cumberland and Harlem from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday, November 5, and again at the same location, during the same hours Sunday, November 6.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on the O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line Beginning SundayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect southbound between Addison and Belmont from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Sunday, November 6 through Tuesday, November 8.

Cottage Grove Closed for Sewer Work through November 18Cottage Grove is closed for sewer work from Pershing to 37th until 5 p.m. Friday, November 18. #4 Cottage Grove(accessible) buses are operating in both directions via Cottage Grove, Pershing, Ellis, 37th, back to Cottage Grove, then resume the regular route.

Brown Line Capacity Expansion:CTA is working to expand capacity on the Brown Line. When the work is completed, customers will benefit from longer trains during rush hour and accessible, modern stations and platforms.

Structural Maintenance Temporarily Closes Two Southbound Brown Line Platforms SaturdayStructural maintenance will temporarily close the southbound platforms at Wellington and Diversey from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, November 5. As a result, southbound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Wellington or Diversey stations. Southbound customers who wish to exit at Wellington or Diversey will need to travel to the Fullerton station and transfer to northbound trains back to those stations.

Single Track in Effect on the Brown Line SundayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect northbound between Armitage and Cleveland from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 6.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.

Single Track in Effect on Red Line Over the WeekendSingle track service will be in effect northbound between Garfield and 33rd from 8 p.m. Friday, November 4 until 8 a.m. Saturday, November 5.

Single track service will be in effect northbound between 69th and Garfield from 8 p.m. Saturday, November 5 until noon Sunday, November 6.

Single track service will be in effect northbound between 79th and 69th from 9 p.m. Sunday, November 6 until 4 a.m. Monday, November 7.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect northbound between 94th and 87th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday, November 7 until Tuesday night, November 8 and southbound in the same location, during the same hours, Wednesday, November 9 and Thursday, November 10.
