Sewer Construction Closes DamenDamen is closed at 7200 South until 5 p.m. Thursday, November 3. #48 South Damen buses are operating in both directions via Damen, 74th, Ashland, 71st, back to Damen, then resuming the regular route.
Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue LineDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect northbound between Harlem and Cumberland from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, October 29, and southbound from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 30.
Single track service will be in effect northbound between Belmont and Montrose from 11 p.m. Sunday, October 30 until 4 a.m. Monday, October 31.
Single track service will be in effect northbound between Addison and Montrose from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Monday, October 31 through Wednesday, November 2.
Customers should allow 20 minutes in additional travel time.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on the Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line Beginning FridayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect eastbound between Lavergne and Lombard from 10 p.m. Friday, October 28 until 4 a.m. Saturday, October 29.
Customers should allow 20 minutes in additional travel time.
Longer and More Frequent Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football SaturdayThe Northwestern Wildcats host the University of Michigan Wolverines at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 29. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating every 7 ? 8 minutes from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and then again for one hour after the game endsor as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
New Park & Ride Facility Opens Tuesday A new Park & Ride facility along the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line will open Tuesday morning, November 1. Located adjacent to the Harlem station at 5550 North Harlem Avenue, the lot provides 53 parking spaces and a convenient travel option for CTA customers who wish to combine driving and public transit. It will also generate additional revenue for the CTA. Parking at the new facility is $2.00 per day.
Brown Line Capacity Expansion:CTA is working to expand capacity on the Brown Line. When the work is completed, customers will benefit from longer trains during rush hour, and accessible, modern stations and platforms.
Structural Maintenance Temporarily Closes Southbound Southport Stairway and Platform on the Brown Line SundayStructural maintenance will temporarily close the southbound platform and stairway at the Southport Brown Line station from 5 a.m. until noon Sunday, October 30. As a result, southbound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Southport station. Southbound customers who wish to exit at Southport will need to travel to the Belmont station and transfer to northbound trains back to Southport.
Southbound customers who wish to board southbound trains at Southport will need to board northbound trains to Paulina and transfer to southbound trains.
Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.
Maintenance Temporarily Closes Red Line Platform over the WeekendPlatform rehabilitation will temporarily close the northbound platform at the 79th station on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, October 29. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the 79th station. Northbound customers who wish to exit at 79th will need to travel to 69th and transfer to southbound trains back to 79th.
Northbound customers who wish to board at 79th, will need to take southbound trains to 87th and transfer to northbound trains.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendSingle track service will be in effect northbound between 87th and 69th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday, October 28 until 8 a.m. Saturday, October 29. Single track service will be in effect northbound between 33rd and 15th Streets from 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 until noon Sunday, October 30.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect northbound between 94th and 87th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, October 31 and Tuesday night, November 1 and southbound in the same location, during the same hours Wednesday night, November 2 and Thursday night, November 3.
Customers may want to allow extra travel time.
