Three Phase Blue Line Single Track in Effect

A three-phase single track will be in effect between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations from 11 p.m. Friday, September 14 until 8 a.m. Saturday, September 15.

From 11 p.m. Friday, September 14 until 2 a.m. Saturday, September 15, a single track will be in effect between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations. Customers at Montrose will board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.

From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday, a single track will be in effect between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations. Customers at the Montrose and Jefferson Park stations must board and exit all trains on the northbound side of the platform.

From 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday, a single track will be in effect between the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations. Customers at Montrose will board and exit trains on the northbound side of the platform.Another three-phase single track will be in effect in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday, September 15 until 8 a.m. Sunday, September 16.

From 11 p.m. Saturday, September 15 until 2 a.m. Sunday, September 16, all customers at the Montrose station must board on the southbound platform.

From 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, September 16, all customers at the Jefferson Park and Montrose stations must board on the southbound platform.

From 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. Sunday, September 16, all customers at the Montrose station must board on the southbound platform.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Red Line Trains to Temporarily Reroute to Elevated Tracks Next Week
Northbound Red Line trains that normally operate through the subway between the Cermak/Chinatown station and the Fullerton station will reroute to the elevated tracks from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 16 and Thursday, September 20.

Rerouted northbound trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak/Chinatown and Fullerton: Roosevelt/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Randolph/Wabash, State/Lake, Clark/Lake, Merchandise Mart, Chicago/Franklin and Sedgwick. Please note, the Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) from
1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Southbound Red Line trains that normally operate through the subway between the Fullerton station and the Cermak/Chinatown station will be rerouted from the subway to the elevated tracks three nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, September 17, to Wednesday, September 19.

Rerouted southbound trains will stop at the following elevated stations between Cermak/Chinatown and Fullerton: Sedgwick, Chicago/Franklin, Merchandise Mart, Clark/Lake, State/Lake, Randolph/Wabash, Madison/Wabash, Adams/Wabash and Roosevelt/Wabash. Please note, the Merchandise Mart station is available as an exit only (via stairway) on from 1 a.m. to
5 a.m.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time.

Other Events Affecting Service
Red Line Trains Temporarily Reroute at Belmont

Southbound Red Line trains will operate on the Brown Line tracks at Belmont from9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays until the fall. Red Line customers should board on the Brown Line side of the platform at Belmont.

From 8 p.m. on Friday, September 14 until 4:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, southbound Red Line customers must board trains on the Brown Line side of the platform.

From 9 a.m. each morning until 3 p.m. southbound Red Line customers will board on the Brown Line side of the platform beginning Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 21.

Overnight Single Tracks in Effect on Red Line Subway
A single track will be in effect on the Red Line between the Grand and North/Clybourn stations from 11 p.m. Friday, September 14 until 6 a.m. Saturday, September 15 and again from 11 p.m. Saturday, September 15 until 7 a.m. Sunday, September 16.

Northbound customers boarding at the Grand, Chicago and Clark/Division stations must board on the southbound platforms. Southbound service is not affected.

Late Night Reroute on Red Line This Weekend
From 9 p.m. Friday, September 14 until 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted at Addison due to construction. During this time, southbound trains will be unable to stop at Addison. Customers wishing to exit at Addison should ride to Belmont and take a northbound train back to Addison. Southbound who wish to board at Addison should take a northbound train to Sheridan and board a southbound train.

From 8 p.m. on Saturday until 8 a.m. on Sunday, September 16 southbound Red Line trains will undergo temporary reroutes due to construction. During this time, northbound trains will be unable to stop at Addison.

Northbound customers who wish to exit at Addison should ride to Sheridan and take a southbound train back to Addison. Northbound customers who wish to board at Addison should take a southbound train to Belmont to board a northbound train.

Late Night Reroute at Fullerton Next Week
A reroute will be in effect on the Red and Brown lines at Fullerton station from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 19.

Southbound Red Line customers will board and exit trains on the Brown Line side of the platform at Fullerton. Northbound Red Line customers will board and exit trains on the southbound side of the platform where southbound Red Line trains normally stop. Northbound Brown Line customers boarding at Fullerton will board trains where northbound Red Line trains normally stop.

During the same hours, northbound Brown Line trains will be unable to stop at Wellington. Northbound customers who wish to exit at Wellington should ride to Belmont and take a southbound train to Wellington. Customers who wish to board at Wellington should take a southbound train to Fullerton and board a northbound train.

Customers are asked to allow extra travel time.

CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.

Brown Line Single Track in Effect This Weekend
A single track will be in effect at the Armitage station on the Brown Line from 1 a.m. Saturday, September 15 until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 16 while crews work on the northbound platform. All customers boarding at Armitage will board on the southbound (west) platform.

CTA Provides Service for Bears Home Opener
The #12 Roosevelt, #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express are a convenient travel option for fans heading to the Bears home opener on Sunday, September 16 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Kickoff is at 3:15 p.m. #128 Soldier Field Express operates non-stop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field. Service will operate from 1:15 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. After the game, buses will leave Soldier Field every few minutes for one hour.

The special fare for #128 buses is $1 for full-fare customers and 50 cents for reduced-fare customers. The exact cash fare is required to receive the special rate. In addition, CTA will operate longer Orange and Green Line trains for customers traveling to and from Soldier Field. The station is at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium.

CTA Provides Service to Celtic Fest
All CTA rail lines and several downtown bus routes provide service within walking distance of the Celtic Fest in Grant Park from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16.

CTA Provides Convenient Service for College Football Game
From 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. Saturday, September 15, CTA will operate longer trains on the Purple Line for the Northwestern University versus Duke University at Ryan Field in Evanston. The stadium is located approximately three blocks from the Central station.

26th Street Closed for Festival and Marathon
26th Street will be closed from Kostner to Ogden from 4 p.m. Friday, September 14 until 11 p.m. Sunday, September 16 for the Fiesta Del La Villita.

#60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate in both directions via 26th, Kostner, Ogden, Cicero then return to 26th and resume the regular route.

26th Street also will be closed between California and Kostner from 8 a.m. until10:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 16 for the Mexican Independence Day 5K Race.

#52 Kedzie/California, #53 Pulaski, #60 Blue Island/26th and #82 Kimball/Homan buses will reroute to adjacent streets around the race route.

Division Closed for Fair
Division will be closed from Ashland to Damen from noon until 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 and again from 10 a.m. Sunday, September until 4 a.m. Monday, September 17 for the Do Division Street Fest and Renegade Craft Fair.

#70 Division buses will operate in both directions via Division, Damen, North Avenue, Ashland to Division and then resume the regular route.

Buses Reroute for Mexican Independence Day Parades
FridayFrom 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. #18 16th/18th buses will be rerouted due to the Mexican Independence Day Parade taking place from Miller to Loomis.

Buses will operate via 18th, Blue Island, 16th, Halsted then return to 18th and resume the regular route.

Saturday
18th Street will be closed between Newberry and Wolcott from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15.

#9 Ashland buses will operate in both directions via Ashland, Cermak, Racine, 16th then return to Ashland and resume the regular route.

#18 16th/18th buses will operate in both directions via 18th, Damen, Cermak, Halsted then return to 18th and resume the regular route.

#60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate via Cermak, Halsted, 16th, to Racine and resume the regular route.

Sunday
26th Street will be closed between California and Kostner from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16.

#52 Kedzie/California, #53 Pulaski, #60 Blue Island/26th Street and #82 Kimball/Homan buses will reroute to adjacent streets around the parade route.

Buses Reroute for Back to School Parades
The 8th Ward Back to School Parade will block Cottage Grove between 83rd and 87th streets and between Cottage Grove and Chappel from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15.

#4 Cottage Grove, #14 Jeffery Express, #15 Jeffery Local, #28 Stony Island and #87 87th routes will undergo reroutes to adjacent streets around the parade route.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, the 9th Annual Back to School Parade will reroute buses along Michigan Avenue between 124th and 111th streets.

#34 Michigan, #119 Michigan/119th and #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses will reroute to adjacent streets around the parade route.

#77 Belmont Reroutes This Weekend
#77 Belmont buses will undergo reroutes from 9:15 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the next morning beginning Thursday, September 13 to Friday morning, September 14 and again Friday night to Saturday morning, September 15. Buses will operate in both directions via Belmont, Sheffield, Addison, Halsted then return to Belmont and resume the regular route.

Washington Bridge Closed
The Washington Bridge over the south branch of the Chicago River (364 W) will be closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 17 until 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 21.

Southbound #14 Jeffery Express and the #127 Madison/Roosevelt Circulator* and eastbound #X20 Madison* and #56 Milwaukee buses will operate via Washington, Clinton, Madison, Monroe then return to Michigan and resume the regular route.Eastbound #60 Blue Island buses will operate via Canal, Lake, Clinton, Madison then return to Monroe and resume the regular route.

Eastbound #124 Navy Pier and #157 Streeterville* buses will operate via Canal, Lake, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Wacker, Washington then return to Wacker and resume the regular route.

#120 Ogilvie/Wacker Express* buses will operate via Randolph, Clinton, Washington, Canal, Lake, Wacker, State, Illinois to Lower Wacker and then resume the regular route.

#122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express* buses will operate via Randolph, Clinton, Washington, Canal, Lake then return to Wacker and resume the regular route.

*Routes may be eliminated on September 16
