German-American Festival Affects Two Bus Routes September 6-10Service on two bus routes serving the Western Brown Line station at Leland will be affected by the German-American Festival Thursday, September 6 through early Monday, September 10, when Leland is closed between Western and Lincoln. #11 Lincoln buses will operate south via Lincoln, Western, and Montrose back to Lincoln. Northbound buses will make the same detour in reverse. #49B North Western buses will end their trips south on Western via Montrose, Lincoln and Wilson back to Western to begin northbound trips.

Parades on Columbus Detour Three CTA Bus Routes SaturdayThree CTA bus routes that normally operate on Columbus between Balbo and Roosevelt will use Michigan in both directions Saturday while Columbus is closed for the Von Steuben German Day Parade at 10:30 a.m., and the Mexican Independence Day Parade at noon. Both parades will go south on Columbus from Monroe to Balbo. The detoured routes are #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #146 Marine/Michigan Express.

Signal Work Affects Red Line Subway Early Saturday and Sunday Signal renewal work will require Red Line trains to use a single track while serving subway stations from Roosevelt to Lake from midnight until 5 a.m. Saturday, September 8, and from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday, September 9. During this time, trains will operate about every 20 minutes in both directions.

Chicago Half Marathon Affects Five Bus Routes Early Sunday, September 9 Five bus routes serving the South Side will be affected by the Chicago Half Marathon Sunday, September 9, from about 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. #6 Jeffery Express and #10 Museum of Science and Industry buses will operate via 47th, Cottage Grove and Oakwood to Lake Shore in both directions. #4 Cottage Grove, #55 Garfield and #171 U of C/Hyde Park buses will also be affected.

26th Street Mexican Independence Parade Detours 5 Bus Routes SundayThe 26th Street Mexican Independence Parade will close 26th from Albany to Kostner Sunday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. #52 Kedzie/California buses will operate via Cermak, Western and 31st back to Kedzie in both directions. #53 Pulaski buses will end their trips south at Cermak. #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate via Western and Cermak to Cicero. #82 Kimball/Homan buses will end their trips south at Central Park/Ogden, and #94 South California buses will operate via Cermak, Western and 31st back to California.

Northbound Bus Detour Off State at 18th Starts Monday, September 10 Construction work will close part of State Street from 14th to 18th for about two months starting Monday, September 10. During this time, southbound buses will remain on State, but may be required at times to share a single lane of traffic with other vehicles. Northbound buses will be detoured off State via 18th, Wabash and Roosevelt back to State. The affected routes are the #29 State #62 Archer and (morning rush periods only) #129 West Loop/South Loop.
