Let CTA Help You Usher in the Sunny Days of June

With summer just around the corner, CTA’s trains and buses are the best and most affordable ways to get to various sporting events, concerts, fireworks at Navy Pier and the Do Division Street Fest; Weekend construction work to temporarily impact the Pink Line

CTA is the best travel option to get to all your festivities around the city. Customers can save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.

Service for Upcoming Events                                                                                     

Do Division Street Fest

West Town, Division Street between Damen and Leavitt – Fri. 5/31 at 5 p.m., Sat. 6/1 and Sun. 6/2 at 12 p.m.

Service:

  • Rail: Take the Blue Line and exit at the Division and Damen stations.
  • Bus: The #70 Division bus will be rerouted. Several CTA routes will provide the closest service to the event including the following:
    • #49 Western
    • #50 Damen
    • #56 Milwaukee

United Center

Get to and from the following events via the #20 Madison and #50 Damen bus routes. Customers can also take the #19 United Center Express route post event:

  • Feid – Thu. 5/30 at 8 p.m.
  • Tim McGraw – Fri. 5/31 at 7 p.m.
  • Chi City Fest – Sat. 6/1 at 7 p.m.

Soldier Field

Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route

  • Mexico vs. Bolivia Soccer – Fri. 5/31 at 8 p.m.
  • La Galaxy vs. Chicago Fire FC – Sat. 6/1 at 7:30 p.m.

Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island

Service on the #146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express route

  • Beyond Wonderland Chicago – Sat. 6/1 and Sun. 6/2 at 2 p.m.

Navy Pier Fireworks

Service on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier routes.

  • Sat. 6/1 at 10 p.m.
  • Wed. 6/5 at 9 p.m. - #65 Grand route also available for this evening’s event.

Wrigley Field

  • Cincinnati Reds vs. Chicago Cubs – Fri. 5/31 at 1:20 p.m., Sat. 6/1 at 6:15 p.m. and Sun. 6/2 at 1:20 pm.
  • Crosstown Classic: Chicago White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs – Tue. 6/4 and Wed. 6/5 at 7:05 p.m.

Service:

  • Red Line: The Addison station is located just a half block east of Wrigley Field.
  • Purple Line (New!): Before weeknight games only, Loop-bound Purple Line Express trains will stop at the Addison station.
  • Yellow Line: Take the Yellow Line and transfer at Howard to the Red Line; continue to Addison station. To accommodate fans returning home, the Yellow Line will run for an hour later from Howard – until midnight – for all night games at Wrigley Field.
  • #152 Addison:  The #152 route will provide additional service on Cubs game days, with more frequent service two hours before and one hour after all games.
  • #80 Irving Park: The #80 route will provide additional service before the games, timed to meet the inbound UP-NW Metra trains at Irving Park.
  • Adjacent bus routes: Several CTA bus routes serve the Wrigley Field area, including:
  • #8 Halsted
  • #22 Clark
  • #36 Broadway
  • #151 Sheridan

Summer Service to Navy Pier and Museums

The following routes are currently running a summer service schedule through Labor Day:

  • #124 Navy PierService will be extended by 90 minutes in the evening daily. Eastbound service from Union/Ogilvie stations will run until 11:30pm. Westbound service from Navy Pier will run until midnight.
  • #130 Museum Campus: Service between Union/Ogilvie stations and Museum Campus/Planetarium will operate daily.

Service to the Lakefront:

Now through mid-August, Weekend/Holiday beach service will operate directly to the lakefront and its beaches on the following bus routes. Buses will begin their trips to these beaches between approximately 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Weekday beach service will begin on June 10th.

Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Pink Line Service

  • Between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sun. 6/2, rail service on the Pink Line will operate counterclockwise on the Outer Loop tracks (More details).
  • Customers should board/exit Pink Line trains on the Brown Line platform at all Loop stations.
  • This service change is due to track maintenance work.
